Hormesis, an integral to the normal physiological function of cells and organisms

Why is it important to get exposure to extremely tiny amount of foreign "substance"?
For our body to familiarize itself with something new and to build a healthy response, to trigger your body’s innate ability to recover the balance.  Be it a stress or a substance.

Here is a scientific name for this: "hormesis".

The effects of hormesis have been demonstrated in over 8,000 scientific studies.

The symptoms we express when we’re reacting to a foreign "intruder", be it a physical or emotional stress, are a result of and evidence of that adaptive state.

The effect of remedies is to trigger your body’s innate ability to recover the balance.

Minuscule amounts are always easier for us to deal with.  This is the underlying principle of homeopathy's dilutions - the higher dilutions, the more effective  the remedies us.
The same is true for the Aromatherapy: the less and the more frequent, the more effective.  This was proved in a number of scientific experiments, and I have seen it time and time again in my personal experience.

To thoughtful caring!

"Hormesis is a term used by toxicologists to refer to a biphasic dose response to an environmental agent characterized by a low dose stimulation or beneficial effect and a high dose inhibitory or toxic effect. "
